A new picture book that made my heart melt upon reading is ADRIAN SIMCOX DOES NOT HAVE A HORSE, by Marcy Campbell and illustrated by Corinna Luvken (Dial, Aug. 14, 2018, ISBN-13: 9780735230378), a lovely, simply told story that every young reader understands, no matter what side of the monkey bars you’re on. Teaches kindness, empathy, imagination, understanding, service, forgiveness, and not judging based on appearances. More....

I love reading, and I aim to pass the love along. So I have set for myself a Goodreads Goal to read 295 books in 2019 ... Challenge on!
I set the number myself based on an estimate of how many books I typically read in a year. Granted, some of these are picture books, and I am a very fast reader, but along with this goal I am also aiming to add new, daily reviews. Starting out, I will be adding to my 2018 Roundup of Favorite books of the year. With fiction and nonfiction for all ages, I will be sharing new roundups of craft books, short stories, graphic novels, which will also appear as Collections under my Genre tab. New, dedicated pages include National Geographic, Storey Publishing, and books on mental health and mindfulness. Check back frequently for new additions and giveaways, and happy reading!
The Legend of the Fairy Stones breathes fresh air into a little-known tale about fairies. Author and collage artist Kelly Anne White cleverly wraps rhythmic verse around an astounding collection of artwork from the public domain. Anchored in visual and oral tradition, this truly beautiful re-imagining of a word-of-mouth folk lore remains rich with originality. The Legend of the Fairy Stones, by Kelly Anne White, Morgan James Publishing, April 2019, is for ages 8 and up and adult art enthusiasts and is available now wherever books are sold.

Love your library!
I lived at the library as a child, riding my bike there nearly every day. Check your local library for free events, story time, writing contests, technological and researching resources, and, of course, books.
