Position: Editorial assistant, web design and content management
Time Requirements: 15-20 hours per week
Major(s) Requested: Web design, Design, English, Editing skills a plus
Candidates must be enrolled in an internship course to earn credit.
Essential Responsibilities: Assisting author, editor, and reviewer, Kim Childress, with management of her website, ChildressInk.com; and blog, A Day In The Light, (email@example.com).
The intern will:
Post content on ChildressInk.com
Edit and proofread projects as needed
Create new ChildressInk.com pages
Post previously published pages
Read and review books (intern will receive free books, and will be able to choose which books to review out of selected new releases--young adult, middle grade, picture books, and/or adult interest)
Write articles on assignment
Excellent knowledge of English grammar, spelling and punctuation
Excellent editing and proofreading skills is a plus
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excell, Outlook, and PowerPoint); Candidate will receive training and use WordPress and GoDaddy software.
Love of books and reading
Self-starter and works well independently, not afraid to be creative
Reliable and responsible
Ability to handle multiple tasks
Industry knowledge a plus but not required,
